Siemens Business Services Singapore Appoints New MD

A veteran of the Information Technology industry for 16 years, Pek Yew Chai, has taken over the Managing Director position in Siemens Business Services Pte Ltd (SBS) as of December 15, 2005. Pek succeeds John Kan, who has left the company for personal reasons.

 
 

Pek brings to SBS a wealth of experiences from various key positions he held in Singapore Computer Systems Limited (SCS) where he managed different business portfolios from outsourcing, systems software and hardware, to professional manpower services. He started his career as a sales manager with SCS in 1989 and rose to President and CEO position in 2003, in which he managed more than 2,000 technical, sales and support professionals in Singapore and seven other countries in the Asia Pacific region, driving SCS’ Infrastructure and Solutions business to commercial and government customers.

On his new appointment in SBS, Pek said: “Siemens Business Services in Singapore has had an excellent and profitable business last year, winning new accounts and enjoying increased volumes from existing customers. I am looking forward to expand our customer base, leveraging on our rich set of international customer references and innovative solutions to achieve higher growth and profitability for our business.”

Pek also held position of Chief Operating Officer in MediaRing Ltd from 1999 to 2001. In addition, he is the First Vice-Chairman of Singapore IT Federation (SiTF). Pek studied Electrical Engineering & Biomedical Engineering at the University of Southern California before starting his career in Ministry of Defence and thereafter at SCS.
